What is Paintless Dent Removal?

Paintless Dent Removal (PDR) is a method of repairing and reshaping a dent to its original shape.
Examples of dents that can be removed from your vehicle include door dings and stone chip dents.

Paintless dent removal (PDR) is a technique that can fix minor dents and dings on a car’s body without damaging the paint. PDR involves using special tools and skills to gently massage the metal back to its original shape from the inside. PDR can save time and money compared to traditional methods that require filling, sanding, and repainting. PDR can also preserve the value and appearance of the car, as it does not alter the factory finish.

Paintless Dent Removal (PDR) is suitable for repairing hail damage, door dings, creases, and other shallow dents that have not cracked or chipped the paint. However, PDR is not effective for fixing deep or sharp dents, or dents that are located on the edges or corners of the panels. PDR also requires access to the backside of the dent, which may not be possible in some cases.

PDR is a skill that requires training and experience to perform correctly. It is not a DIY project that anyone can do at home. It is advisable to seek professional help from a reputable PDR service that can guarantee quality results and customer satisfaction.

Benefits of Paintless Dent Removal (PDR)

  • No chemical stripping of the paint surface around the dent
  • Since no stripping or sanding of the paint surface occurs, the original paint stays on the area of the dent, and therefore, no need to color match new paint with existing paint
  • Cost – a fraction of the price of costly paint shop repairs
